Common questions

Everything people ask us, answered straight.

Twenty of the questions we field most often — about warranty, urgency, pricing and how we work. If yours isn’t here, call and ask.

01 · Before you come in

Appointments help us get you in and out faster, but we take drop-offs whenever the schedule allows. Call 972-442-0099 and we’ll tell you honestly what today looks like.

Just the vehicle and the keys. If another shop gave you an estimate or a diagnosis, bring that too — it genuinely helps and it doesn’t offend us.

We can usually narrow it down and tell you whether it’s urgent. An accurate diagnosis needs the vehicle in front of us.

We service most domestic and import cars, trucks and SUVs. If something falls outside our scope, we’ll tell you rather than take the job and figure it out later.

It depends entirely on the job — an oil service is under an hour, a timing belt can be two days. We’ll give you a realistic window when we quote, and we’ll call you if it changes.

02 · Warranty & quality

Most repairs we perform — parts and labor — for 2 years or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first. Wear items and customer-supplied parts are excluded, and we tell you which category applies before we start.

We use OEM-quality parts. We won’t quote a cheaper economy part to win a job, because we’re the ones who have to honor the warranty when it fails.

Yes. Every visit, every vehicle, no charge and no obligation to have any recommended work done.

No. Under federal law, scheduled maintenance performed by a qualified independent shop does not void a manufacturer’s warranty as long as it meets specification. We document everything so your records hold up.

Bring it back. We’ll re-diagnose at no charge, and if it’s related to work we performed we’ll make it right.

03 · Symptoms & urgency

Yes — a stored code often points to something inexpensive that becomes expensive if ignored, like a small vacuum leak that later damages a catalytic converter.

No. A flashing light means an active misfire dumping raw fuel into the exhaust, which can destroy a catalytic converter in minutes. Pull over safely and call us.

Very. Grinding usually means the pad material is gone and metal is contacting the rotor. Stopping distance is compromised and the repair cost climbs by the day.

It depends on the rate and the location. A weep from a valve cover is very different from a rear main seal. We’ll identify the source and tell you how urgent it is.

That’s a parasitic draw or a charging problem, not a battery problem. We measure the actual current draw with the modules asleep and trace it to the circuit responsible.

04 · Money & process

They’re different things. A free scan reads a code. Diagnosis is the testing that determines which component actually failed — and it’s what keeps you from buying parts you didn’t need.

Better than dealership quality at a fraction of the price, with double the warranty. You get a written estimate before any work begins.

We generally don’t install customer-supplied parts, because we can’t warranty a component we didn’t source.

Call us at 972-442-0099 and we’ll walk you through what’s currently available. [Confirm before publishing.]

Absolutely. Ask and we’ll keep them for you — we’d rather you see the failed component than take our word for it.
