Electrical, Batteries & Starting

No-starts, dead batteries, parasitic draws, alternators and wiring faults — traced circuit by circuit instead of guessed at.

The approach

Electrical work is where shortcuts show up fastest. A car that starts fine in the bay and won’t start in your driveway three mornings later isn’t going to be solved by throwing a battery at it — and yet that’s the most common ‘repair’ performed on this complaint.

We test the charging system under load, measure parasitic draw properly with the modules asleep, and check voltage drops across the actual circuit. It takes longer than swapping a part. It also works.

What this service includes

  • Battery testing, replacement and terminal / cable service
  • Starter and alternator diagnosis and replacement
  • Charging system testing under load
  • Parasitic draw testing for batteries that die overnight
  • Wiring repair, connector and ground repair
  • Power window, lock, mirror and accessory faults
  • Lighting, sensor and module communication diagnosis
  • Intermittent no-start and no-crank diagnosis
Every electrical and batteries job at Cityline includes a complimentary multipoint inspection and is covered by our 2-year / 24,000-mile warranty on most repairs.
Warning signs

When to bring it in.

Any one of these is worth a phone call. Most of them are cheaper to fix now than in three months.

01

Slow crank in the morning

The earliest sign of a battery or connection problem, and easy to fix before it strands you.

02

Battery keeps dying overnight

Classic parasitic draw — something isn’t going to sleep when you shut the car off.

03

Battery or charging warning light

The alternator isn’t keeping up. Driving on it usually ends with a tow.

04

Clicking when you turn the key

Could be battery, cables, ground, or starter. Testing tells you which, before you buy anything.

05

Dim or flickering lights

Voltage instability — usually charging system or a bad ground connection.

06

Accessories acting strangely

Windows, locks or dash lights behaving oddly often trace back to a shared ground or module fault.

How we work

Diagnose first. Quote second.

1

Test the battery and charging system

Under load, not just a resting voltage reading.

2

Measure the draw

If it dies overnight, we let the modules sleep and measure the actual amperage being consumed.

3

Isolate the circuit

Fuse-by-fuse and voltage-drop testing narrows it to the component or wire at fault.

4

Repair and confirm

Fixed, retested, and covered by the 2-year / 24,000-mile warranty.

Questions

Electrical & Batteries, answered.

Typically three to five years, and heat is the main enemy — North Texas summers are hard on batteries. If yours is over three years old and cranking slowly, get it tested before winter.

That’s a parasitic draw or a charging problem, not a battery problem. We measure the actual current being drawn with the vehicle asleep and trace it to the circuit responsible.

Yes — but we test first. Both get replaced unnecessarily all the time when the real fault is a cable, a ground or a relay.

Yes. It’s more common than people think. We repair the harness properly rather than splicing and hoping.
